What is Boundless ?

Nine Southern African countries have elected the Boundless Southern African brand as a means of showcasing the various transfrontier conservation areas. They are united through their passion for nature, culture and community. Through Boundless, these countries offer tourists so much more in terms of experiencing wildlife and scenic beauty in pristine destinations. Boundless also affords tourists the opportunity to engage directly with local communities and learn about their culture, history and sustained conservation of the environment and cultural heritage.

What is a Transfrontier Conservation Area ( TFCA ) ?

A Transfrontier Park is defined as “an area where two or more protected areas are collaboratively managed across international borders.”

A Transfrontier Conservation Area is defined as “an area straddling across two or more international borders where the natural and cultural resources are collaboratively managed by the governments / authorities involved”.

FIFA World Cup South Africa 2010
Boundless Southern Africa is a positive response to the African Legacy Programme that was devised by the 2010 local Organising Committee.  The creation of sustainable conservation and eco-tourism initiatives across frontiers will surely be one of the greatest legacies for the African continent – borne out of the unifying spirit of the 2010 World Cup and going far beyond.
